Board Equanimity and gain the cockpit from the swim platform, up steps on either side, then through stainless steel framed sliding glass doors to the salon.
Through the salon to the galley, on the same level, then up three steps to the pilothouse and lower controls.
Then down to the accommodations area with laundry, three private cabins, and two proivate heads, each with generous shower stalls.
Also from the pilothouse, up stairs to the flybridge lounge area and upper station controls. Here too is the boat deck, aft of the seating areas.
Equanimity is a classic pilothouse design where the staterooms are accessed via a companionway forward and down from the pilothouse. At the bottom of the companionway is a foyer with doors leading into three staterooms, a fourth door opening to the guest head and shower, and a fifth door opening to a stacked washer and dryer.
The stairs from the pilothouse to the accommodations foyer are broad and gently sloped (read safe). Courtesy lights under each tread add ambiance and safety. A locker within the foyer houses the laundry; a separate stacked Asko washer and dryer. Starting forward:
VIP Guest Cabin
The VIP guest cabin forward with island queen berth, storage in numerous shelves, drawers and lockers, including two tall hanging lockers. Also featured is direct access to the guest head.
Port Guest Cabin
To port in the foyer is the port guest cabin with two generous bunks. The lower bunk runs fore and aft, and the upper bunk runs athwartship. This design maximizes the size of the bunks and allows for good floor space for an otherwise cozy cabin. Storage in drawers, and generous lockers. Opening portlight.
Guest Head
To starboard in the foyer, opposite the port cabin, is the guest head with two access doors; one direct from the forward VIP cabin, and the other from the foyer for the port cabin and for day guests, who can then access the head without going through someone's sleeping a cabin.
Primary (Owners' Cabin)
Aft of the foyer is the primary / owners' stateroom, situated midships, utilizing the full beam of the yacht.
Here is a queen size bed, with full walk around. Lots of storage space in so many drawers, cabinets and lockers. Accent and overheard lighting.
The bed runs athwartship, headboard to port, with an open dressing area on the starboard side.
Ensuite Head
Entered from the cockpit, the perfectly proportioned salon is a comfortable space, enhanced with attractive accent lighting near the floors, and above, hidden in the valances, in addition to the overhead lighting.
Expansive windows with outstanding views of the seascape.
A straight love seat is to port with a side table, with a curved love seat to starboard. Storage under both. There is a hi-lo table and a swivelling barrel chair.
Entertainment centre with Sony Dream System DVD player, 40" flatscreen TV, and a superb sound system featuring Rockford Fosgate and Sonichub2 equipment.
The salon flows forward to the galley to port, with its dinette settee to starboard.
At the base of the pilothouse stairs on the starboard side is a dinette that seats six comfortably. On the port side is the galley that features a propane stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave oven and full sized refrigerator with freezer. The counter top provides a large working space plus two deep stainless steel sinks and garburator.
Equanimity's galley is stunning, and is a feature part of the liveability of this remarkable yacht. It is very open to and a part of the bright, open salon/dining area. This galley is a cook’s heaven with generous counter space, big, clear windows, and modern appliances. A centre for family and guests with a dinette across that seats six in comfort.
The pilothouse is arguably the heart of the yacht with large windows on three sides, adjustable captains chair, and all engine instruments and controls close at hand. The pilothouse is the primary helm, and it is immediately apparent in the attention to detail, layout of controls, and navigation electronics; all smartly updated by Philbrook's Boat Yard in 2019.
The captains chair swivels to face the settee and table to join guests while not underway. The settee seats 4-5 comfortably.
The starboard side door from the pilothouse to the side decks and foredeck give quick and easy access and visibility for operator and crew.
Built in shelves and lockers along the aft bulkhead, as well as shelves close to the helm for binoculars and other needed gear.
Access the flybridge, upper helm and boat deck externally via molded steps from the cockpit, or internally from the pilothouse. From the pilothouse, there is a sliding glass door, with a custom sliding bug screen.
The flybridge is fully enclosed, with opening windows, and the decks are covered with grey Deckadence marine carpet, keeping dirt and moisture off your feet, and out of the yacht's interior.
To port and aft, is a large curved settee that can seat six. It has storage underneath, and is finished in white upholstery. To starboard is the wet bar with sink, storage cabinet, counter top, and drinks refrigerator.
The upper helm station is on the centreline, with two comfortable helm and co-helm chairs, that swivel to face aft to join guests. These are on a molded pedestal with built in drink holders. Engine instruments and controls close at hand.
The boat deck is aft of the flybridge seating area, and is also covered in Deckadence marine carpet.
The electrical systems have been upgraded, and are robust, reliable and intuitively simple, making life at anchor or at dock as worry free as can be. AC and DC power services the vessel through circuit breaker panels with appropriate voltage and Ampere guages. At dock, 110VAC is provided by a 50 Amp shore connection. Away from a dock, 110 VAC is provided by the 17kw genset, or through the inverter.
At sea, batteries are chaerged by the engine or generator driven alternators, and while at a dock, by the chargers via shorepower.
Batteries, solar, and charging systems were updated and installed in 2024 by Philbrook's Boat Yard.
Motive power is via a pair of 635 hp Cummins QSM11 diesel engines with common rail injection technology, meaning these are clean burning, efficient, smoke-free, and quieter than earlier version of these engines.
The engine room is meticulously clean, painted out, tidy, and very well ordered, with great access, making any task in this space easier and quicker.
