Vancouver, BC

Sunrise New York — the impressive 1930 Dawn Classic motor yacht — is available for viewing in Vancouver.

Own a piece of maritime history with Sunrise New York, a rare 1930 vintage motor yacht from Dawn Boat Corporation. This beautifully preserved classic yacht for sale has been in the Pacific Northwest since 1946 and maintained in a Vancouver boathouse since 1994. She has been lovingly preserved and properly maintained by just two passionate owners—one since 1996.

While Sunrise New York has received modern marine upgrades to essential onboard systems, her original layout and classic yacht interior décor remain intact, making her a standout among historic yachts for sale. The vessel offers sleeping accommodations for six across three staterooms, two heads, and a proper U-shaped stainless steel galley. The spacious salon and lower helm station provide excellent visibility and comfort, while the flybridge and covered aft deck invite outdoor enjoyment during sunny coastal cruises. The aft stateroom even features a cozy fireplace, ensuring comfort and privacy for guests.

Powered by twin Ford Lehman 120 HP diesel engines, this classic motor cruiser delivers reliable and efficient performance.

A proven showpiece, Sunrise New York has earned several awards at Classic Boat Festivals and is ready to be appreciated by another proud owner. Whether you’re a classic yacht collector, a lover of maritime heritage, or searching for a unique floating home, this historic motor yacht offers timeless appeal.

East Coast buyers: This vessel could be easily transported back home—perhaps in time for her 100th anniversary. Don’t miss the chance to bring this vintage motor yacht home and showcase her legacy to the New York boating community.

Elements of Sunrise New York

Built in the days of pure craftsmanship by skilled shipwrights, this vessel showcases timeless construction. The hull is cypress planking on oak frames, the cabin and superstructure are mahogany, and the decks feature canvas on tongue-and-groove planking. As soon as you come alongside, you notice the skill and patience applied to the exterior paint, creating a perfect barrier against moisture and water while looking beautiful.

Step aboard via the side deck, entering from either of the two side doors or the aft deck. You immediately feel the elegance of a classic build: wood soles, mahogany trim and finish throughout, light-finished ceilings with dark cross beams, and abundant windows and portlights, along with overhead hatches that let in plenty of daylight. This is the only boat I’ve seen with beveled glass around all the salon windows, adding a real touch of class.

Forward of the salon are two separate staterooms. The forward stateroom is sometimes considered crew quarters, featuring a single high bunk, toilet, sink, and ample storage. Aft is the guest room, with a single bunk on one side, a double bunk on the other, and storage drawers and cupboards for your boating essentials.

Aft of the salon is the stainless steel U-shaped galley, with countertops and sink together, a propane stove and oven, and an under-counter refrigerator. Good daylight streams in through the large window. Opposite is the main head, featuring a Silent Sea water toilet, porcelain sink, shower with base on resilient flooring, and mahogany cabinets with a medicine cabinet.

Aft again is the main stateroom, full-width, with an upholstered settee that converts into a double berth, a diesel-fuel fireplace, storage drawers, two hanging closets, carpeted wood floors, and opening hatches and portlights.

From the aft cabin, you access the cockpit, featuring a hard cover with side curtains for full enclosure. A table and chairs make it the perfect spot for warm summer evenings. The cabin roof flybridge accommodates a classic rowing tender with a swing-out davit system and a bench seat across the roof, with bridge controls on the port side.

Take your time and enjoy the scenery. All outside hatches, the tender, flybridge, and winches are protected with full canvas covers to keep out bad weather.
