The Marquis 59 is a stunning design of proven appeal. Through and through, this is still considered a masterpiece of Italian style and American build. The strong, flowing, handsome lines are those of a contemporary luxury yacht that seemingly takes flight underway, in mile covering performance. And comfort.
The outside spaces flow from one to another — from the swim platform to the welcoming covered cockpit, around proper side decks, and on up a gently sloped staircase to the extended and enclosed flybridge lounge.
The inside space invites, engages as you give yourself up to the feeling of bright, extended, open space on one deck level — no hard separations, just defined areas of living that flow each into the next in an intimate luxury of refined, subtly contrasting finishes.
This has been a wonderful family yacht for these owners, who have enjoyed her fully, and are ready for something larger to continue exploring and enjoying our coast.
Tranquillus has been updated, improved, and fully serviced.
From a dock, step on to the broad and secure swim platform, and up two steps to the cockpit through the transom door. Steps port and starboard give access to the side decks and foredeck, a staircase to port to the flybridge lounge, and a large sliding glass door to the salon.
From the salon, the galley is connected yet separated in its own space, up two steps and to starboard with a side deck door and cabinetry to port, the helm forward on the centreline, a dinette settee to starboard, forward of the galley, and to port, broad spiral stairs leading down to the accommodations.
Descend these stairs to the accommodations foyer. Towards aft is the master stateroom with private ensuite heads. Midship to port is the guest bunk cabin, with head opposite to starboard, and forward is the VIP stateroom with private access to that shared guest head.
Finishing all through the yacht is high-gloss varnished cherry cabinetry, fixtures and bulkheads, with beige accent pieces and headliner. There are feature pieces in the ceiling, with separate light circuits, that help define the spaces and add flair. About five years ago, the original carpet throughout was replaced with custom teak and holly laminated sole to accommodate a cleaner, family-friendly interior.
The Cruisair reverse cycle central air conditioning and heat system has controllers in each cabin, the salon, and the enclosed flybridge.
Down stairs to the accommodations deck is the foyer, a sizeable space with access to the three cabins, and a large locker with stacked laundry machines. There is also a large curved wall ready for a piece of favourite art.
The Master Suite is located down a step, just aft of the foyer, and expands the full beam of the yacht, featuring a plush king-size walk-around bed, storage cabinetry to port and starboard, night tables and bookshelves thoughtfully positioned, decorative reading light sconces, ceiling lights on dimmers, and lush designer bedding.
The Master Head, ensuite to the stateroom, features an extra large vanity, tub and shower stall.
All the way forward is the VIP Stateroom with an island queen berth, storage in cabinetry and shelves all around, ceiling lights on dimmers, and reading lights.
Guest Stateroom to port has two single berths, opening portlight, with privacy shade, hanging locker, cabinets, overhead lighting, and individual reading lights.
Also about five years ago, the original dark salon furniture was replaced with these lighter furnishings which are more durable, and have a more nautical theme. To port and starboard are matching settees, with a matching barrel chair aft, all surrounding the glass and stainless coffee table.
Large windows port and starboard, and the sliding glass double door aft flood the salon with natural light.
To port is the bar cabinet, with storage lockers below, and glass doors to the cabinet above.
Entertainment System
Two steps up forward of the salon is the galley. It is primarily to starboard and although it may appear somewhat compact, in actuality, it is fully equipped, in an intelligent arrangement with all the needed appliances, ample storage space, and working space to prepare any meal. In keeping with the smart design,, the aft area of the galley counter is lower than the rest, making for an easy pass through to guests in the salon.
Equipment includes:
The lower helm is set up with straight forward access to all controls and instruments, (detailed in section below), a very comfortable adjustable helm chair, and an ergonomic gloss varnished 8-spoke steering wheel
To starboard is a dinette with a curved settee that will seat up to four guests. It is positioned so that even while seated, guests can view the sea scape. This is a great space for joining the operator while underway, or perhaps a quiet work station or reading area while at anchor.
The watertight door to the port side decks give access to the foredeck, and quick, safe access to view a dock while coming alongside.
Next to this door, just forward, is another storage cabinet with counter top.
The flybridge is accessed via gently sloped stairs from the cockpit.
This is an enviable space with a factory fibreglass hard top and a recently updated La Fabrica full enclosure, ceiling lights, and clear removable panels all around. This is a comfortable way to increase the living space on board in all weather.
Adjustable helm chair on the centreline with all controls and navigation equipment at hand (details follow), swivelling mate’s seat to starboard and forward facing bench to port. SeaView solid window with wiper and washer.
To starboard is the grill cabinet with built in grill, Corian counter top, storage lockers and bottle holder.
Just aft of that is a large dining table with curved settee able to seat up to six guests.
Extending furthest aft is the sun deck surrounded by a stainless steel safety railing.
Wet bar to port with storage locker and Corian counter top
Board the yacht via the swim / tender platform through a transom door to the cockpit.
More exterior lounging in the built-in settee across aft end of cockpit, with storage lockers at either end. The cockpit is covered for al fresco dining or entertaining.
To starboard is the cockpit control station with engine and thruster controls, light switches.
Walk up forward on either side of the cockpit to the protected side decks with high bulwarks, stainless steel railings, with openings port and starboard, and access to the foredeck, and the portside pilothouse door.
Tender
The tender sits on the hydraulic transom platform.

The electrical system is well engineered, robust, and ready to provide whatever power the yacht and her guests require.
AC power is distributed through circuit breaker protected panel, and is provided by two 50 Amp shore power connections, or by the diesel generator, or by a large inverter off the house bank of batteries.
12VDC power is also distributed through a circuit breaker protected panels. There are two banks of batteries; the house bank for onboard systems, and a dedicated start bank for engine and genset starting; both with dedicated charging systems
Enter the machinery space through a water tight door in the aft bulkhead. First is the utility room with wash basin and plenty of storage, then the door to the well-organized engine room
