Big Dog is a forty one foot convertible sedan motor yacht, production built of moulded glass reinforced plastic (GRP) by Maxum Marine in 1999. Powered by a pair of in-line six cylinder Diesel engines driven through conventional reversing gears and propellers. The hull form is flared bow chines, and modified V underbody and transom.
The layout is based on the popular convertible sedan model, starting aft you have a wide swim grid, and cockpit, from there you have access to the side and fore decks, stairs to the flybridge or through a large sliding door into the interior accommodation. Inside is a pleasant, bright salon, built in settee and table, cupboards for storage, carpeted floors, curtains, headliner, lights, all to project a warm home feeling. Forward to port is the well appointed modern galley with all one needs to create the perfect meals to enjoy. Forward again is the companionway to the guest stateroom, the heads and shower and finally the master stateroom. Again all finished with the right amount of trim, carpeted floors, curtains and headliner, reading lights, proper spring mattresses.cupboards and drawers.
The sedan model has an option of two helm stations, upper and lower. This boat only has the upper helm on the flybridge. This alone allows for more interior room, and since most people like to run the boat from the upper helm, it all makes sense. The Flybridge is full enclosed, and has ample seating for captain and crew to enjoy the views as you travel around.
The Bridge on the Maxum 41 is large and comfortable. It is also the main helm station for the boat. fully covered and enclosed you can be in control in any weather. Seating for four plus the captain. Storage cupboard, sink and countertops for entertainment. Easy stair case from the aft cockpit.

The exterior space design was well thought-out. The foredeck offers a great lounging area, the aft cockpit opens into the salon for a large living area and the flybridge offers a sunning area, settee lounge, bar and a large helm station.
