A boutique builder, Wendon Yachts of Sidney, BC, is known for its well-engineered and robust hulls. You will also find this boat to have exemplary living space, with superb finishing throughout. North American cherry is warm, rich, and contemporary, complemented by light ash trim and accented with exotic bird's-eye maple. An open layout allows plenty of sunlight, with spacious accommodations in three fair-sized staterooms.

Step aboard onto a wide swim grid with teak decking and stainless staples. Here you have access to a large lazarette and a watertight door to the engine room. Curved teak steps lead up to the main deck. On the main deck, you are covered by the boat deck. There is curved seating, teak decking, and access to the wide side decks, which are excellent for walking around and are perfect for young children or pets. Entrance into the interior is through two full sliding doors. There is also a ladder up to the boat deck and an aft docking station.

Once inside the main salon, you immediately feel the large open concept. You can see right through to the galley and the lower helm station, with full windows all around providing plenty of daylight. Free-standing furniture and a large dining table for six add to the comfort. A hanging locker for wet-weather gear is a great feature. Forward to port is the full U-shaped country kitchen. To starboard is a bar and additional cupboard space. The woodwork is beautiful to look at and has a warm, calming effect with a stately feel.

Take two steps up to the lower helm station. There is a full settee across the aft bulkhead with a table in front and storage drawers underneath, as well as chart drawers and a chart table (very rare in new boats). The helm station is well laid out for easy reading of all instruments and controls. Visibility is excellent, with a 360-degree view in all directions. Each side has a door leading out to the side decks. On the starboard side are the stairs up to the flybridge and down to the accommodations. AC and DC electrical panels provide easy access to electrical controls.

Up the stairs is the Skylounge. It features a full enclosure with a hardtop and glass windows. On each side are built-in settees, along with a wet bar equipped with a sink and ice maker. The helm mirrors the lower helm, offering great all-around visibility for everyone to sit and enjoy the sights while cruising the coast. Two side windows open for fresh air, and the Skylounge is heated and cooled to suit the season. Aft is a door leading to the boat deck, where the first six feet are covered by the roof. Here you will find a built-in BBQ, a sink, and storage cupboards. The tender sits fore and aft, with the davit located on the port side. There is still room for other water toys, prawn and crab traps, and deck chairs.

The stairs down to the accommodations are wide and gentle. Forward is the VIP stateroom with a queen island berth, hanging closet, drawers, and opening portlights. Aft is a door leading into the shared head, complete with shower stall and vanity sink. The third stateroom is down the companionway on the port side and features two generous bunk beds with storage drawers underneath, a hanging closet, and a door leading to the shared head forward.

The companionway leading aft has a storage cupboard on one side, followed by the built-in washing machine and a large dirty-laundry hamper. One step down leads you into the full-width master stateroom. It features an island queen bed, plenty of storage and cupboards, and a vanity table. The ensuite, with a full stand-up shower and vanity, is located forward to starboard. Four opening portlights provide fresh air when desired.

All interior spaces are finished in broadloom carpeting, with beautiful woodwork and fine joinery throughout. The headliner and wall fabrics are in excellent condition. In the master stateroom, the aft wall features an artistically designed mirror, as do some of the cupboards in the galley and salon. This gives the boat a luxurious and elegant feel.

Outside, forward of the lower helm door, you immediately feel very safe. The side decks are protected by high bulwarks with stainless handrails running all the way from aft to the bow. The foredeck is open and easy to move around. There is a teak lounging area with built-in drink holders on the trunk cabin forward, perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Salon

Step in from the aft deck through two sliding glass doors and immediately feel the openness and abundant natural light of the interior. To starboard is a very unique feature not found on many yachts: a full cedar-lined hanging locker for jackets and wet-weather gear.

To port is the entertainment centre. Here you will find an audio/visual system, a JVC AV receiver, and built-in speakers on the aft deck, in the salon, at the lower helm, and in the Skylounge, all controlled through a selector switch. Also included is a JVC 5-disc CD player.

The salon features free-standing furniture, including a large overstuffed leather sofa, a swivel easy chair, and an oval-shaped dining table with seating for six. Storage cupboards are located beneath some of the windows, while forward there is a bar, wine rack, and additional cupboards for galley storage.

Overhead lighting is highlighted by a large oval light feature, with rope lighting incorporated into the window valances. Blinds are fitted to all windows, drapes cover the aft doors, and etched glass artwork with backlighting is displayed in a framed feature between the galley and salon.

Comfort is maintained throughout the vessel by an Espar hydronic heating system, with individual controls in each room. Alternatively, enjoy the three-zone reverse-cycle air conditioning system serving the salon, lower helm, and Skylounge, each with its own controls.

Galley

Forward of the salon on the port side is the large U-shaped country kitchen galley. A key part of the open-concept main deck, it is open to both the lower helm and the salon, allowing the chef to prepare meals and entertain at the same time.
