Known as a value priced vessel, the model has earned respect for:
Over 17’ of beam creates remarkable volume of living space, with a praised open concept layout, resulting in a roomy and comfortable family yacht, and an outstanding yacht for entertaining.
Smooth, agile performance with a 20 knot cruise, and a quiet, economic ride at 10 knots, for long lazy days of summer.
German-engineered MAN diesel power.
Excellent ergonomics with ease of boarding and moving around exterior decks, with well thought-out flow of spaces from the cockpit, through the salon into the pilothouse, and either down into the accommodation, or up steps the flybridge. Intelligent layouts and smart use of space were a hallmark of Bayliner, and the 5788 is no exception.
Relaxed lounging spaces: a salon with comfortable seating, outstanding surround views of your anchorage, a generous galley with real appliances, and a dinette across from the galley
The pilothouse features settee and table, amazing visibility, a large dash for navigation equipment, and port and starboard access doors to the side decks, a feature sorely missed on the later Meridian 580.
An easily accessed flybridge from the cockpit or the pilothouse, with ample room for piloting, lounging at a lovely anchorage, storing the tender, along with optional kayaks, paddle boards, and children’s inflatable toys…
Endeavour has been the subject of an ongoing update program with emphasis on mechanicals, finishings and systems.
Board Endeavour to the cockpit from the swim platform, through port and starboard access doors. From the cockpit, step up port or starboard to the side decks, to access the foredeck. Also stairs up to the flybridge and boat deck. These stairs lift to reveal seriously comfortable access to the vast engine room.
Also from the cockpit, the sliding glass door opens to the broad salon and galley with large round settee to port, entertainment centre, bar and storage to starboard, and the adjoining galley forward to port with its dinette opposite to starboard.
Up three steps forward in the salon to the pilothouse; the distinctive design feature that makes this vessel such a one northwest design, perfectly suited to cruising our waters. The pilothouse is the operational centre of the yacht, with a clean array of large screens, and all necessary navigation and communication equipment at hand. All AC and DC systems switches are organised here. There is a settee for guests to join the operator, port and starboard doors to the side decks, and stairs up to the flybridge.
Fusion stereo system with control head in pilothouse, controlling four zones; salon, pilothouse, aft deck, and flybridge.
Webasto DBW 2030 central hydronic heat system. This is a robust system that supplies an even heat throughout the boat through five individually controlled zones. It also provides on-demand hot water to the galley, the heads and showers, with no need of the genset to provide hot water in a quiet anchorages.
Endeavour is a classic pilothouse design where the three staterooms are accessed via a companionway forward and down from the pilothouse. At the bottom of the companionway is a foyer with a laundry cabinet, and access to a guest head, which is set up so day guests can use the head without enter a sleeping cabin.
Forward find the generous VIP cabin, with direct access to the guest head to starboard with a sink, Vacu-flush marine toilet, and a walk in shower. Opposite the head on the port side is the guest cabin with cross over upper and lower bunks. Aft is the sumptuous, full-beam master stateroom with the queen sized bed lying athwartship. A dressing area with a sink and vanity is on the starboard side of the stateroom. The head with a separate full size bathtub, shower and Vacu-flush toilet are directly aft of the dressing area.

The salon and galley are integrated and are perfectly proportioned. Five large windows all around are perfectly positioned giving all on board, whether sitting or standing, expansive views. All are opening and all have screens.
The main salon seats six to eight comfortably in a large L-shaped settee plus two stools. Storage under the settee. The table height can be adjusted via an electric motor operated by a switch — down for cocktails and snacks, or up for meals. On the starboard side is the wet bar and entertainment centre with updated audio visual system. This cabinet has been modernized by an electric lift for the flat screen TV. All of the lighting is LED, or dimmable halogens.
The galley is stunning, and a feature part of this remarkable yacht. It is open to and a part of the bright, open salon/dining area. The typical white appliances have been updated with stainless steel. New cabinet facings, matched in style.
This galley is a cook’s heaven with generous counter space, big, clear windows, and modern appliances. The dinette across the galley seats six in comfort.
The pilothouse has large windows on three sides which provide excellent visibility and a bright interior. This space has a settee and coffee table for four or more guests to join the operator. The pilothouse is the primary helm, and it is immediately apparent in the attention to detail, layout of controls, and array of navigation electronics.
Side doors access both side decks (to port, a section of settee must be removed first) and interior steps lead to the flybridge. The electronics upgrades are impressive and thoughtfully laid out with the chosen equipment rivalling that of any serious modern yacht.
The flying bridge is accessed from both the pilothouse or the molded steps from the aft cockpit. There is abundant space for entertaining under way or at rest with two helm chairs that swivel to join guests in the large wrap around settee.
The Fusion stereo system here has a stereo amplifier, a subwoofer, and LED lights built into the speakers.
The flybridge deck also has NuTeak deck covering right back to and including the boat deck, and new upholstery on the settees. More storage under the settees.
Prior to the installation of the NuTeak decks, all soft spots in the flybridge deck were cut out and the plywood core was replaced with structural foam
The upper helm station has a full set of engine instruments, navigation aids, trim tab buttons, bow and stern thruster controls and remote anchor windlass controls are provided.
To starboard is the barbecue console with sink, counters, storage cabinet, refreshments refrigerator and vented propane locker.
Starting aft, where we board the boat: The swim step seems oversized, and there is a feeling of safety when on that platform to access the two large aft lockers for fenders, lines, shorepower cords, connectors and cleaning supplies. Then, port and starboard transom doors lead to the cockpit, which, along with the swim platform and flybridge, is clad in NuTeak for a smart yacht-y look, and for superb non-skid.
In the cockpit deck, two large hatches access the storage lazarette, with the genset on the centreline, and room for fishing gear and other supplies to port. To starboard are moulded steps to the flybridge, which when raised, open up to the engine room. Steps up, both port and starboard from the cockpit, to side decks with good sized handrails leading to the forward deck, port and starboard access to the pilothouse, and a large foredeck with provision for a sun pad, chain locker, and a substantial anchor windlass.
Endeavour was last hauled June 2020, zincs serviced, bottom cleaned and painted.
Navigation electronics were updated less than five years ago with top Furuno and other components.

240/120VAC power is distributed through a circuit breaker protected panel with appropriate volt and Amp gauges, and switches for fore and aft shore selection and shore and ship power. AC power is provided by 240/120V50Amp shore connection, by a heavy duty 12 kW generator, and, for lighter 120VAC loads, by a 4000 Watt inverter, powered by the house bank of batteries.
24/12VDC power is distributed through circuit breaker protected panels, one for 24VDC and the second for 12VDC, both with volt and Amp gauges. There are two banks of batteries; the house bank for onboard systems, and a dedicated start bank for engine and genset starting; both with dedicated charging systems.
Endeavour is powered by renowned, twin 610 HP MAN D2866LE401 turbo diesel engines with approximately 3,900 hours. These are in-line six cylinder engines with an excellent torque curve providing excellent power and reasonable fuel burns throughout the range of RPMs.
